A Simple Solution to Holiday Overwhelm
We’re already well into the Holiday Season. If you are feeling overwhelmed, I’m going to share a very quick solution.
“No.” It’s as simple as that. “No.” You can make it “No, thank you,” if you like.
Try saying these phrases out loud:
“No, I won’t be buying as many presents this year.”
“No, I can’t attend that party.”
“No, I don’t care for a cocktail or glass of wine.”
“No, I don’t care for dessert.”
“No, I can’t pick up that item, it’s not on my way.”
“No, I don’t want to.”
You don’t have to say “No” to everything. But consider saying “No” to a few things. Is there anything that you’ve said “Yes” to that you don’t really want to do? You can change your mind!
If you feel resistance to saying “No,” I invite you to take a few moments to breathe deeply and slowly and ask yourself “Why?”. Be kind and gentle with yourself as you do this inquiry.
