So many people I know suffer from occasional or chronic panic attacks. They usually describe them as ‘feeling like I’m going to die.’

Early on during the pandemic, I experienced a panic attack myself. If I had had them before, it was a long time ago – back when I was an alcoholic and drug addict. But one evening in 2020, I was practicing yoga with a virtual class, when I went into an asana that made my breathing feel restrained. I certainly had done that post before, but that evening I had recently learned about what COVID-19 sufferers often experience. I basically freaked out.

Fortunately, I was not in an in-person class. I was at home. I stood up and began to tap. “I’m having a panic attack,” I said as I tapped. “I feel like I’m going to die.” I continued to tap around the points and stated how I was feeling. But it only took about 2 rounds of tapping before the intensity went way, way down. Soon I was at a zero intensity.

And then recently, I was on a client call when she began having a panic attack.  I was recording the session (as I often do) and she gave me permission to share the audio of that part of our work

 

 

 

 

She had been having lots of panic attacks over the previous few months, but had not used Tapping for those. Usually, those panic attacks were taking 15-20 minutes to settle down. But the one we recorded took about 5 minutes. And, she hasn’t had one since then.

I encourage you to develop Tapping for your own use. You can use this recording for panic attacks specifically.
