The Wisdom of Mary Magdalene
As someone who has navigated the complex landscape of faith, my journey started at Rose City Park Presbyterian Church in Portland. Baptized alongside my siblings, we were members, with our father even serving as a deacon. Yet, my early encounter with a traumatizing image of Jesus on the cross left me with more questions than answers.
Our family’s relationship with religion shifted when we moved to Hawaii. While my parents made a few attempts to attend church, my own curiosity about the Divine deepened. Despite witnessing inconsistencies between what was being preached and the behavior of churchgoers, I found comfort in the sacred music and continued attending services alone for a few more years.
Reflecting on my spiritual journey and my current work as an EFT/Tapping practitioner, I’ve pondered the idea that each of us embodies the “Seven Deadly Sins.” What if, instead of seeking to transcend these supposed vices, we are meant to embrace them as facets of our humanity? Meggan Waterson’s perspective, inspired by her writings on Mary Magdalene, introduces the idea that these sins are integral to our human experience. Not that we have to glorify them, but also that we not hide them away.
In the 1850s, Mary’s gospel was discovered, dispelling the false claims made against her and revealing her true role in the divine narrative. Perhaps, like Mary Magdalene, we are meant to challenge societal expectations and question the narratives that seek to diminish our inherent divinity. Embracing the fullness of our humanity, including the qualities of Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth, could be a path to a more authentic and meaningful spiritual connection. We could actually love those parts of us so that they no longer run our lives.
In essence, my journey has led me to appreciate the complexity of faith, the beauty of doubt, and the wisdom embedded in the stories of those like Mary Magdalene who dared to challenge convention. As I continue to explore my spirituality, I am learning to embrace the contradictions and complexities that make us undeniably human.

I am one of the biggest proponents of Tapping for use on all sorts of emotional and physical causes that create all sorts of physical and emotional symptoms. I LOVE Tapping and I use it literally every day. I encourage you to use it every day, too.
But is it possible that Tapping is holding you back from your potential?
Are you using Tapping so much that you are avoiding living your life? I’m asking because I used to do this very thing. I spent my early years of Tapping not only learning and studying and practicing, but also avoiding living my Life. I kept signing up for another course and another course, in hopes that I would find the way to really step up to my practice/my business. It didn’t work. It just kept me small. I finally had to take some big action. And then I realized I’d been hiding away, afraid to be vulnerable, fearing criticism. I was actually afraid of success.
So I came up with a couple of questions you can ask yourself for a deeper self-inquiry. And it is important that you use the first person pronoun when you ask these questions. And ask the questions with a loving and compassionate heart!
- Am I afraid to Live my Life more fully?
- Am I so afraid of changing that I keep myself small?
- Have I practiced the wisdom I’ve uncovered in my Tapping? Or have I been staying safe? (This is like doing our prayer and meditation in a monastery and never going out into the real world. It may seem spiritual, but it’s really not.
- And lastly, “Have I been resting on my laurels? Using the excuse that “I’ve already grown so much…I can’t grow anymore.”?
You see, humans are hard-wired for ‘security’ and yet we desire variety and growth. Trauma and limiting beliefs can keep us stuck. And Tapping can get us free. But sometimes we slip into a new level of limitations. And that’s ok.
But if you’d like to expand and evolve and grow – beyond your wildest dreams – it’s imperative that you keep doing your work while you’re living your life!
Here’s a video by Dr. Joe Dispenza (one of my virtual mentors) that speaks to the potential of all humans.
And if you’re ready for a Tapping Group experience, I hope you’ll join me for my upcoming 8-week course called “Tapping Into Higher Consciousness.” In this online LIVE class, that begins on Friday, September 10, we will meet together once a week for 2 hours. We will learn about the different levels of Consciousness, and how you can consciously raise your consciousness. Of course we’ll do a lot of Tapping.
So WHY would you want to raise your consciousness? Well, in part because you can. And if there is any part of your life that feels confusing or scary to you, or feels less than satisfying, raising your consciousness (and Tapping is a big part of that) is perhaps the ONLY way to change.
No matter your age or your experience, you have not yet tapped in to your fullest potential. And it’s not too late. This course will help you become aware of your potential, and begin to step into it. Imagine if every person on the planet reached even a tiny bit into their greater potential. Everything would change!
Here’s the link again for my upcoming 8-week course (LIVE online) “Tapping Into Higher Consciousness.”
If you need more information than you find on my website, please join me for my FREE introductory webinar “Learn About Higher Consciousness” on Friday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Click the button below to register.
Here is what participants have to say about some of my courses:
Mary from Washington says: I don’t know how many courses I took with Helen during the pandemic. I took every single one of them. I swear to you, it kept me sane during the shutdown. The thing that comes to mind is having joy for no reason – during all that horrific time, I had so much joy. Everyone in the class – we were creating miracles collectively and for ourselves. I can’t say enough good things about the courses you’ve created through your Tapping. That course [Manifesting Miracles with Tapping] really was life-altering for me!
Nancy from California says: Last time, I spoke about how some of my bloodwork looked good because I’m battling a disease. And you asked me what I thought helped it out. And 100% I believe it’s this openness to Higher Consciousness.
Just to be able to say, I’ve been tapping every day, and I believe this Tapping…I physically feel different.
I don’t think any of these treatments I’ve been on would have done anything close if I hadn’t been seeking this Higher Consciousness.
It’s been such a blessing.
Annie: I started Tapping with you a little over a year ago. I used to get anxious and it could ruin my whole day. And now I’m able to tap and just kind of be with it [the anxiety] and physically and emotionally just feel it shift. It is such a gift because until then, I didn’t know you could get out of anxiety without trying to THINK your way out of it or just ignore it. [Tapping] is such a great tool to have – to know that when I feel like that I can turn to Tapping and you don’t push for the outcome. It just gets to be the result and it’s so freeing to have that resource! Just knowing I can use this takes some of the anxiety away.
Quotes from other participants:
-Tapping opens us up to Higher Consciousness – this big presence, this big energy. Tapping helps us move past our limitations.
-Show up fully, do the simple things that we do in these classes, and your life will change!
Dale from Oregon: Tapping has been such a life-saver for me. Don’t talk it out, tap it out. If I need to talk about somet=hing, I know I need to tap. When I tap, I’m so amazed at the higher intelligence that I’m connected to. I may be in a rut about something, I tap, and then all of a sudden I’ve got a whole other sphere of feelings and information and resources at my access. And it’s nothing short of amazing. I’m very grateful to you.
Joan from Washington: A shout out for your classes. I’m very impressed. It kept my vibration up. My confidence level is higher. My business is picking up a lot. This “I am enough” thing is such a game-changer for me.

The word disease is really dis-ease, or anxiousness. When we are taught as children to not have a voice, or to not speak our truth, or to be seen and not heard, those thoughts, ideas, truths can become dis-ease – usually in our throat area,
Tapping is a wonderful way to relieve this disease, as shown in this article by David Feinstein, PhD, in a peer-reviewed report. Dr. Feinstein is a clinical psychologist and researcher. Here is a portion of the report.
An interesting theme that was highlighted in the analysis was the use of tapping for addressing physical illnesses. One of the cases reported was of a woman who was diagnosed with cancer in the area of her throat. She sought the services of a tapping therapist in part to help with her terror about the radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
This was accomplished in just a couple of sessions, but the treatment also uncovered a lifelong pattern of her not speaking up or speaking her truth.
In order to examine the links between her suppressed verbal expression (“shoving my truths down my throat,” “keeping what I need to say under my tongue”) and the cancer in the area of her throat, tongue, and vocal cords, the therapist asked her to imagine what was happening in and around her throat.
At first, she saw heavy black tar and cobwebs. As the emotional charges began to lift, the imagery changed until she had a sense of spaciousness and light moving through her throat area . . . the tar and cobwebs were gone.
This was reflected in her CT scans, which far exceeded her oncologist’s expectations, particularly since she had discontinued radiation against his advice and also refused a recommended course of chemotherapy. Rather than increasing in size, all the masses had shrunk, some up to 50%!

How Tappers See Tapping
I can site all kinds of anecdotal evidence for this type of result from Tapping. I’m so glad that there are researchers out there who are creating these reports and research papers,

If you have ever thought that Nature is just a bunch of random organisms, I invite you to think again.
Nature is God’s artistry, and all of Nature can be measured with Geometry. Geometry gives Nature its poetic coherence.
When I was a kid, I had an unconscious understanding of Sacred Geometry. I used to draw and create images using the idea of fractals. I didn’t know what a fractal was until I was well into my later years, and yet, I had a knowing about them. I was fascinated with the designs in flowers and leaves and trees, and in shells and starfish and waves. And I loved creating repeating patterns with lines and points and thread.
Nature isn’t random. Nature is amazing! If we want to survive and thrive on this planet of ours, we have to get in alignment with Nature. I believe it is imperative that we work with the laws, rather than trying to dominate them. For example, we learn to work with the Law of Gravity at a very early age. In fact, most babies are born with an innate fear of falling. Does that baby know about Gravity? Not in an intellectual way, but in a way that is like a swarm of swallows (known as a murmuration) that sweeps and swoops in a mystical dance. Those swallows and babies are each connected to consciousness.
Airplanes fly not in resistance to gravity, but in alignment with it. The Wright Brothers understood this. Birds and bats and butterflies also fly in alignment with gravity. But these creatures don’t ‘understand’ this. They are, quite simply, connected to that consciousness. We are too, but most of us have forgotten.
Fractals are a part of Sacred Geometry. Watch this demonstration of how fractals can help you understand the Universe
When we do Tapping, I am often connecting with the consciousness of Sacred Geometry. Our minds tend to work in repeating patterns. Trauma tends to start a new pattern. We can interrupt these patterns and begin to rewrite them, creating new healthier fractal patterns in our lives. This is the basis of resolving trauma with Tapping.
What are the repeating patterns in your life? Do you think you’re stuck with those things? No! You can get free of the patterns. With the help of Tapping!

Have you ever experienced the heart palpitations, sweaty palms, and dry mouth that come along with the fear of speaking? Whether it is the fear of speaking to an audience, or the fear of asking for what you want in your relationship, or the fear of expressing your opinion around other people, or the fear of being heard in your business, these fears can stop us in our tracks.
When I first learned Tapping, more than 10 years ago, I was working for an organization, and there was a panel presentation that I attended. At the end of the presentation, they asked for questions. I had something I wanted to ask and I could already feel my heart racing and I was certain my voice would be shaky. So I discreetly started Tapping. After just 2 rounds, my hand shot up into the air – almost on its own, and I was called on. I heard this calm voice ask a question and I realized it was me. And then, the biggest miracle, I heard the answer. And I didn’t spend any time reliving the moment. I was able to be present in the moment. That’s the moment I decide to become a Tapping practitioner.
My own fear of speaking had its roots in Kindergarten. Yes, really! Tapping gave me my voice back!
Over the years, I have gone deeper into healing the multi-generational fear of having a voice and speaking my truth.
