Each of us has the power to change the world.
When we change ourselves, we start a ripple effect that changes everything and everyone.
We are, each of us, perfect in this moment, of course. But we are human and so we think human thoughts, and do human things. This is where the power of change lies.
Most of our thoughts emanate from our sub-conscious, or unconscious mind. It is difficult, if not impossible to control and change these. But we can begin to become aware of our conscious thoughts, and change the ones that don’t serve us, until they create new neural pathways in the brain. When we change our thoughts, our emotions change. And our actions change. And our energy changes.
Negative thoughts about other people, in the form of judgement, jealousy, fear, anger, etc. are damaging – to the other person, and to the person thinking them. Sometimes we feel so justified! They deserve it! But these thoughts do damage to us. When you catch yourself thinking judgmental thoughts about someone else, reframe those thoughts into loving and compassionate ones. Example: “She is such a know-it-all!” into “I can see the little girl in her – craving attention. I can give her that.”
Negative thoughts about ourselves do obvious damage to our self-esteem, to our power, to our motivation. And negative self-thoughts send out an energy that attracts more things to feel bad about. When you are thinking or saying thoughts like “god, I’m so stupid,” or “no one likes me,” or “I’m so fat!”, ask yourself if you would say these things to your dearest friend, or to a child. Of course you wouldn’t! So why do you say them to YOU? Now is the time to stop the negative self-thoughts and start honoring and loving YOU! The longer you practice this, the deeper you will get into your mind, and soon, negative self-talk will no longer be running you, and love will fill your life.
So begin with YOU. Be the cause of that wonderful ripple effect. Change the world!
